Local producer Pennyroyal Farm Otway Preserves has won a prestigious Gold medal, and is declared the major trophy winner for best in class for their handmade small batch Raspberry Preserve.
Owners’ Debra and Chris Horniblow were delighted with the win and were also thrilled to receive medals for all of their other entries.

Why we make preserves, not jam?
We make preserves because we only use whole fruits in our recipes. This ensures a chunkier and GREAT TASTING product! All our preserves have pieces of real fruit which provide a fruitier product full of flavour. Jams are generally made from puree or crushed fruit… we do call our chunky fig spread – fig jam, however! Just seems strange otherwise.
